When Should You Use Incense?
You should use incense when you want to attract Pokemon to you. In other words, incense allows you to catch more Pokemon. If you're in a sparsely populated area, activating incense will come in handy if you want to grab a bunch of Pokemon fast.
Incense works for half an hour, and you will know it is activated by a purple cloud of smoke that appears around you. The smoke will follow you even when you leave the location you first activated an incense. Note that when you activate incense, the clock will start ticking and continue counting even when you log out.
How Do You Activate an Incense Pot?
- To activate incense:
- Start by tapping the Poke Ball located at the bottom of the screen
- Go to items and tap
- Here’s you’ll find the incense pot. Tap on it to active
You will have Pokemon surrounding you, and your job will be to catch as many as you can.
What if You Run Out of Incense?
At the commencement of the game, you will be given two sets of incense that you can use anytime. However, if they run out and you want more, you will have to buy them either individually or in sets of eight or twenty-five.
Just like most games nowadays, you can purchase incense using real world currency that is then transformed into PokeCoins. Here’s how to buy incense:
- Start by tapping the Poke Ball located at the bottom of your screen
- Tap shop
- Tap to select the number of incense pots you want to buy in the mentioned sets
It is important to take note that you don’t have to buy incense. Just as is the case with most items on Pokemon Go, you can stock on incense pots by visiting PokeStops. The single thing you need to keep in mind is that in as much as you would like to attract Pokemon, you aren't sure what you're going to find at a PokeStop, so you're better off using your incense wisely.
