Much like an actual animal in the wild, Pokemon in Pokemon Go have been known to migrate to the same location. This location is known as a nest. Think of a Pokemon Go nest as an area where a ton of the same Pokemon flock to. The Pokemon will also continuously spawn here day in and day out. In other words, these nests provide a player with a high appearance rate for a particular Pokemon. For example, in New York City, Charmanders are known to nest around The Museum of Natural History at Central Park West & 79th St. So, if you were to head there right now, you would more than likely find a decent amount of them.
What Pokemon Will You Usually Find At A Nest?
For the most part, you're never going to find a nest of Charizards or Blastoise. Instead what you'll find are a ton of Pokemon with no evolutions or first stage pokemon who do evolve. Obviously this is great for candy collecting. For Pokemon with no evolutions, the candy will allow you to really pump CP points into them. For Pokemon with evolutions stages, nests are very beneficial to you. Here you can easily collect the needed candies for their next phase. Therefore, if I know there is a Jigglypuff nest at Brooklyn's Prospect Park, I can harvest them enough to create Wigglytuff.
So, Typically, What Do Pokemon Go Nests Look Like?
A Pokemon Go nest area comes in all shapes and sizes. Usually, the area is smaller and more isolated. For instance, an entire town wouldn't be called a nest for Eevees. Instead, a nest may resemble something more like your town's local Starbucks or movie theater. Pokemon Go Nests also have a strong correlation with Pokemon Go spawn areas. A spawn area then connects with a specific Pokemon type. For example, a water Pokemon like a Magikarp may spawn and nest by an area of water like a pier. Therefore, as you go out and hunt for Pokemon it's important to keep in mind which Pokemon type you're after and physical area you are in. Below is a chart of where specific Pokemon types may nest.
