PokeStops in Pokemon Go are real-life places you visit to collect items such as pokeballs, eggs, and more. You need these items in order to catch and battle your Pokemon. By going to the location of a PokeStop, you can get these essential items without having to pay money for them. They are basically a free resource to restock your items in the Pokemon Go game.
Where are PokeStops?
PokeStops will be located at several locations nearby, such as historical markers, monuments, and art installations. They are indicated by square blue icons or cubes on your map. When you get close enough to the PokeStop it will change to a circle shape. When you are close enough to a PokeStop, tap on the icon and spin the disc to collect the items or rewards. The rewards will fall out of the photo coin in bubbles. Then tap the bubbles to collect your items! Here is a list of all the possible rewards you can collect from a Pokestop.
- Pokeball
- Egg
- Potion
- Revive
- Lucky Egg
- Razz berry

What are Purple PokeStops?
PokeStops will turn from blue to purple after you have collected your items. There is no limit to how many times you can visit a PokeStop, but you need to wait five minutes after collecting items for the PokeStop to recharge. Once the PokeStop turns from purple back to blue then you can collect items from the PokeStop again.
Does my level affect PokeStops?
The items or rewards that come from PokeStops change as the player changes levels. Before the player reaches level 5, you can only collect pokeballs and eggs from the PokeStops. Once you reach level 5 you can collect more items such as potion, revive, razz berry, and lucky egg. Usually a PokeStop will have three or four items, but after level 5 you can collect as many as 6 items from a PokeStop.
Lures and PokeStops
Lure modules are items that can be installed at a PokeStop. It is similar to incense, but it lures Pokemon to the PokeStop rather than to the individual player. Therefore several players can benefit from the same lure module if they are near the same PokeStop. You will know if a lure module has been installed on a PokeStop because it will be surrounded by pink flower petals.
