Rare Pokemon Locations and Tips
Pokemon Go players have noticed 'nests' of certain Pokemon. If you seem to have multiple of the same Pokemon spawning within an hour, you may be in a Pokemon nest. The good news is that rare Pokemon in Pokemon Go can have nests as well as common ones. If you're currently drowning in Pidgeys, you can find a nest of Drowzees, Charmanders or even Dragonairs. You might have to explore or use our Pokemon Go Locations and Sightings list to find these nests, but they definitely exist.
How do I find a Pokemon Nest?
Unless you regularly hang out in a location that is a Pokemon Nest, it might be difficult to find and identify a nest. Since a location is considered a Pokemon Go Nest when it spawns the same Pokemon approximately every 15-20 minutes, you'll need to hang out in the same location for at least an hour to confirm your suspicions. Generally, Pokemon Go Nests can be found in parks and near important cultural landmarks. These landmarks may include churches, hospitals, museums, and other gathering spots. If you're lucky enough to work near one of these locations, you may have an easier time finding a nest. Nests are also frequently located where you can see rustling leaves. Rustling leaves signify an area with high spawn rates. Because an area is a high spawn area, it's more likely to be a nest.

Pokemon Go Location Tips
Pokemon Go puts value on players moving around to catch Pokemon. You will be more likely to find Pokemon if you are in motion than if you are staying still. However, the GPS on Pokemon Go is still faulty, so you may be able to find a location where you don't have to move around to gain the benefits of moving. If nothing else though, Pokemon Go is a great incentive to get moving. Don't dismiss walking around just because you've found a location that stymies the GPS abilities of Pokemon Go. Hatching Pokemon Go Eggs also requires movement, so get stepping! Hopefully, Niantic will solve the GPS issues to make it easier for those moving to get the credit they deserve.
Do Common Pokemon Vary By Location?
Yes, the common Pokemon in Pokemon Go vary by location. For example, in New York City, Pidgey and Rattata are by far the most common Pokemon encountered. In the suburbs, people report seeing Eevees by the hundreds. Boston and Stamford have very high spawn rates of Drowzee. Across the world, your common Pokemon will vary widely. If you're in Arizona, Pakistan or another sandy area, you will probably see a lot of Sandshrews and other ground type Pokemon. If you've figured out what's common in your location, share it above!
