Pokémon Y is the newest Pokémon game to hit the 3DS. Pokémon Y features more Pokémon than ever before, new 3D graphics, and additional features to add to the series original core gameplay. Read this article to get an overview of the new features and gameplay of Pokémon Y. Pokémon Y is the latest in the beloved Pokémon series and the first main title to come to the 3DS. It is also the first main Pokémon game to feature full 3D graphics and is already being heralded as one of the best looking games on the 3DS. Now players can watch Pokémon battles in their full cinematic glory, with several abilities having truly epic animations. The world map of Pokémon Y is also in full 3D, and players will view the world map for the first time not from a strictly top-down perspective. Players will actually be able to see depth in the backgrounds of both the map and battles. The core gameplay that fans of the Pokémon series have come to know returns in Pokémon Y. You, an aspiring trainer, must travel the region with your favorite Pokémon, training them up with the goal of defeating every gym leader in the land, and eventually the Final Four. Battling with your Pokémon will also be, at its core, a similar experience overall. The actual Pokémon in Pokémon Y will span every title released thus far (though not every single Pokémon will be represented) which should be an exciting prospect for fans who have played through the entire series. There are, however, some interesting mechanics that have been added to Pokémon Y. The most exciting of which is Super Training. With Super Training, players can train up individual stats of their Pokémon during mini-games. Players can also place their Pokémon in Core Training, which is a passive training mode that goes on in the background while you continue to play the game. These mechanics add an additional layer of strategy to party formation, and allows trainers to address weaknesses in their lineup. Another new feature in Pokémon Y is Pokémon-Amie, another mini-game type feature that allows a trainer to increase the bond with their Pokémon. By taking part in the Pokémon-Amie mini-games and increasing their bond, Pokémon will enjoy various benefits to their battle performance.
