How to Evolve Pokemon
You’ll need to catch multiple versions of the same Pokemon to evolve it. Depending on how common a Pokemon is, you’ll need anywhere from 12 to 100 of its candies to evolve the Pokemon.
Once you have collected enough of the same Pokemon species, you can transfer them for species-specific candy. Once you have enough candy, then you can evolve your Pokemon.
How to Hatch Eggs
To hatch eggs in Pokemon Go, you need to incubate them. You will receive your first incubator when you reach level 6.
To begin incubation, tap on the Poke Ball at the center of your main screen. Tap on Pokemon, then swipe over to eggs. Tap on whichever egg you want to hatch and add it to an incubator. Then, simply walk! Remember to keep the app open to track your progress.
How to Battle
In Pokemon Go, you can battle other players in Pokemon Go Gyms located all over the world. Battling is not quite intuitive yet, so we’ll give you a primer on how to defeat other Pokemon trainers.
Although attacking is the main point of battling, knowing how to dodge is vital. Swipe your finger either to the left or right to dodge your opponent’s attacks — but don’t swipe back and forth. If you swipe back and forth, you’ll put yourself back in your opponent’s range.
Attack by tapping your opponent on the screen. Pay attention to the blue bar below your health points. When it fills up, tap and hold on your opponent to release a special attack. Read more tips on how to win Pokemon Go gym battles.
